I used a 5 or F hook with 3ply nylon cord #1. Optional Last Round: ch 3, 2 dc in ch 2 loop, *1 dc in top of next dc, 2 dc in ch 2 loop* repeat around row, sl in 3rd ch. Last Round: ch1, sc around elastic in each sp and st, end with sl in 1st sc, fasten off and weave in ends OR for last round: I am using a side comb attached to the top of snood and using ribbon instead of elastic. Round 11: ch 5, dc in top of next dc, ch 2 all the way around, join with slip st in 3rd ch.
Note that you repeat round 11 to desired length. Add +1 on each x (times) that are in the brackets only, per row added. You may continue to increase for a few more rows if you like to adjust fit or size of snood for a larger head. Round 10: ch 5, dc in same st, ch 2, 8x, *dc in top of next dc, ch 2, dc in same st, 8x*6x, sl in 3rd ch. Round 9: ch 5, dc in same st, ch 2, 7x, *dc in top of next dc, ch 2, dc in same st, 7x*6x, sl in 3rd ch. Round 8: ch 5, dc in same st, ch 2, 6x, *dc in top of next dc, ch 2, dc in same st, 6x*6x, sl in 3rd ch. Round 7: ch 5, dc in same st, ch 2, 5x, *dc in top of next dc, ch 2, dc in same st, 5x*6x, sl in 3rd ch. Round 6: ch 5, dc in same st, ch 2, 4x, *dc in top of next dc, ch 2, dc in same st, 4x*6x, sl in 3rd ch. Round 5: ch 5, dc in same st, ch 2, 3x, *dc in top of next dc, ch 2, dc in same st, 3x*6x, sl in 3rd ch. Round 4: ch 5, dc in same st, ch 2, 2x, *dc in top of next dc, ch 2, dc in same st, 2x*6x (repeat everything between stars 6 times), sl in 3rd ch. Round 3: ch 5, dc in same st, ch 2, dc in top of next dc, ch 2, *dc in next dc, dc in same st, ch 2, dc in top of next dc, ch 2*6x, sl in 3rd ch. Round 2: ch 5, dc in same st, ch 2, * dc in top of next dc, ch 2, dc in same st, ch 2, *6x, sl in 3rd ch. Round 1: ch 5(counts as dc, ch2), * dc, ch 2, * 6x (6 times) sl in 3rd ch. * *5x, means repeat instructions between stars 5 times. For example 2x, means repeat instructions in between the brackets two times.
